Welcome to the Northeast Nelson Community Development Association (NNCDA). We are a non-profit association organized to promote tourism, historical aspects, agriculture, community events and attractions. We encourage businesses, civic groups, churches and the entire communities of Bloomfield, Chaplin and Fairfield, Kentucky to unite with us in our activities.

Bloomfield is a rural Nelson County city where agriculture, antiques and businesses embrace a 200 year old heritage of agriculture, faith and community. Each year, the Bloomfield Community of Tomorrow Group partners with the City and Wilson and Muir Bank & Trust Company in putting on an old-time Picnic in the Park held the first Saturday in July. A 30-minute fireworks display finishes off the event.

Fairfield is a northern Nelson County town near the border with Spencer County. Settlement in the area began about 1795 as a number of families moved into the area from Maryland. Fairfield, often referred to in its early years as Turkey Town for the abundant birds; was incorporated in 1819.

Chaplin is a northeastern Nelson county town on US 62 near the Chaplin River. The name comes from Captain Abraham Chapline, an early explorer of the area. The Chaplin (or Chapline) post office opened in 1832.
